We will open our church doors to host the homeless February 17 – 24.
We are looking for people who can help cook, serve, do laundry, spend the night and warmly host our guests. This is a perfect opportunity for us to serve others like Jesus did.

Easy to moderate, 6.5 miles with about 800’gain. Nice views of Bullard’s Bar Reservoir.

Winter/Spring Hiking Schedule 2019
March 16: Historic Urban Hike/Tour of Fair Oaks Village. Easy to easy moderate, 4 miles with some hilly sections. Robert Perricone will lead this hike. View older residential neighborhoods and walk along the American River. Maximum of 30 hikers. Registration begins March 1 and is limited to those on the FOPC hiking email list.
April 5-7: Point Reyes National Seashore Hiking Weekend. Arrive Friday night. We will do several hikes on Saturday and Sunday and return home on Sunday evening. Lodging information will be emailed out.
April 27: Shell Ridge Open Space – Twin Pond Trail , Walnut Creek. Moderate, 7.5 miles with 1200’ gain. A loop hike incorporating several trails through oak woodlands and grassland Savannah on the lower flanks of Mount Diablo.
May 18: Acorn Creek Trail to Satan’s Cesspool, Pilot Hill, CA. Moderate, 8 miles with 1200’ gain. We will visit a section of the South Fork of the American River with some spectacular rapids.

What is Ditch the Parents? DTP is for infants-8th grade. From the games and activities, to the food, it is all about kids and fun! Kids meet in their designated classrooms then rotate from one great activity to the next during the entire event. Kids 5th-8th grade have a DTP specialized just for them! High energy games, food and snacks, hang out time and best of all, no little kids allowed!
Sound good? Pre-registration is required. Cost: $15 per child/ $40 family max. We must have the new 2018-2019 school year Medical-Liability Release on file and payment before reservation is confirmed. So we can better prepare, registration closes at 5 PM on the Wednesday before the event – sorry, no exceptions.
For the most part, we cannot accommodate special requests. If you request that your children not be separated, please note that the older child will go into the younger sibling’s classroom. Otherwise, all children will be assigned to their age-appropriate classroom. We must have at least two weeks advance notice to accommodate special requests.
