We believe in supporting and serving our local community in addition to reaching the ends of the earth. Below are some of the ways we are involved in the community in and around Fair Oaks. We support each of these ministries with donations of our time, money, and volunteers.
Alternatives Pregnancy Center
APC is a non-profit counseling and pregnancy resource center committed to providing compassionate care to those facing unplanned pregnancies.
Courage To Be You
C2BU, with Courage House NorCal, helps rescue children out of sex trafficking, and provides them with a safe home and an opportunity to heal in a loving, Christian environment.
This ministry focuses on low-income residence motels for the homeless. They provide necessities and ongoing counseling for families. They also help furnish homes, facilitate inner-city Christian summer day camps and other activities for kids. For more information, call (916) 631-4357.
Law Enforcement Chaplaincy
This non-profit organization provides crisis intervention and care to the employees and families of emergency services in the Sacramento area. Chaplains respond 24/7, as first responders alongside police officers during emergency calls. They are trained to help individuals, businesses, schools, and neighborhoods who have suffered a trauma, crisis, or death. Learn more here.
Powerhouse is an outreach ministry in Folsom that supports families of prisoners and families in crisis. They offer parenting classes, a 12-step program, and anger management. They partner with other agencies to help provide alternative sentencing, financial aid, food and clothing.
The Sayonara Community Center
Sayonara Community Center is located in a low income neighborhood challenged by gangs and drug presence. The City of Citrus Heights, City Life, and Community Volunteers create a safe, after school program where kids can get tutoring and support from mentors.
Sunrise Food Closet
Sunrise Food Closet provides emergency food supplies for needy residents of the Sacramento area. It is the mission of the Food Closet to provide five days of nutritionally balanced food supplies once each month when an emergency occurs.
Union Gospel Mission
Union Gospel Mission is dedicated to sharing the Gospel. They help the homeless with utilities, rehabilitation through their New Life Discipleship program, sheltering and offering showers and clothing to men on the street. They also provide GED and vocational training for those who do not have marketable job skills.
Word to Russia
Word to Russia‘s vision is to share the Gospel with the people of the former Soviet Union wherever they may be. Some of the programs include: Outreach to Orphans Project, humanitarian support and evangelistic ministry in Former Soviet Union Orphanages.
Youth For Christ
Youth For Christ is a faith based organization designed to meet the diverse needs of teenagers in Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Nevada, Solano and Yolo counties. YFC staff provide practical activities while sharing the life changing message of Jesus Christ.
